Couldn’t help but notice that this opens on a shot of the Pan Am rooftop where Michael Findlay prematurely lost his life, but The Hookers is more about beginnings than endings, about how three women from very different walks of life became whores, prostitutes and ladies of the evening.

Overall, a surprisingly effective little anthology film with little script flourishes that show the marks of someone who is thinking beyond the usual tits and tropes, and might actually have something to say about the culture being bred in and around these desperate girls.
